Carbone Farmers offers a solution for all agricultural value chain stakeholders who wish to engage their farmers and livestock breeders in the transition, as well as all climate-committed businesses looking to support French agricultural carbon sink regeneration projects.
Regenerative agriculture is an approach that aims to restore soils, increase biodiversity, and store carbon in agricultural land, while improving the socio-economic resilience of farms. It helps to fight climate change by reducing greenhouse gas emissions and sequestering carbon in the soil.
Our agricultural projects are mostly monitored over 5-year periods, but some projects may be shorter. Generally, a reduction in carbon footprint and an increase in environmental benefits are observed on farms in transition from the following harvest onwards.
The two main sources of funding for the transition supported by Carbone Farmers are sector-specific premiums and carbon credits.
The carbon credits generated within our agricultural projects are calculated using national methodologies, governed by standards such as the Label bas carbone. Our calculations are primarily based on field measurements, which are then consolidated into our internal tools. Carbone Farmers works with independent certification bodies, such as Bureau Veritas, to guarantee the transparency and credibility of these certified Label bas carbone credits.
